Policy

A policy embeds a program into a school. It must have direct benefit to the students in the school. Endorsement of a policy by the school council gives the program long-term approval. Without a policy, there is no guarantee of this approval and the change may be short lived.

Food for Thought

  • To maintain the school’s exemplary sustainability education programs, Manorvale Primary School made their School; environmental policy part of the selection criteria for their new school principal
  • To enhance the school’s sustainable goals, Williamstown High School used their school's environmental policy to guide the design and development of their new school buildings.
